Podushka Chetki - Acrylic Editions
Our acrylic Podushka chetki combine the beauty of modern materials, with the traditional styling of Eastern European chetki. The Podushkas are a chetki model that was originally designed to be hand made by one of our suppliers that specializes in manual work. The design turned out to be extremely popular, and we decided to explore expanding the range of material options through precision machining. These beautiful acrylics are the result. They play, and sound, as good as they look, and they're sure to become a favourite. The lightweight, durable material is truly perfect for chetki, and the colour options are unmatched by other materials. The acrylic Podushkas have been polished to a beautiful glossy finish, softening the edges of the rectangular beads, and providing excellent grip during use. As usual, they're strung up on our custom high density 1.2mm kevlar cord for performance and durability.
Delving deeper into a hobby often means exploring the roots, and thereby gaining a deep appreciation for traditional forms. Our Podushka chetki exemplify this, with design cues taken from traditional Eastern European chetki. The Pudushka chetki feature rounder, chunkier feeling beads compared to our sportier Remeshoks. The name translates to “pillow” in reference to the comfortably rounded plumpness of the bead shape. The character of this design is similar in spirit to our tradcore begleri series. They have a much more traditional look and feel than our other models, and while they are not as nimble as more contemporary designs, they pay homage to the roots and will give players a chance to appreciate the features that have made chetki a daily companion for so many across Eastern Europe over the years. And as we do, we've put our own special touches into the design, making it recognizably Aroundsquare, while still channeling some traditional design language.

I picked up the acrylic swirl brown and it is beautiful. The pictures can't quite capture the variance in color -- you really need to see it in person to fully appreciate. The podushka feel very full in the hand compared to remeshok chetki. It's a slower play, but very satisfying.
I’ve been wanting to get a more traditional chetki for ages after loving the remeshoks, and this podushka is everything I wanted. The weight, sound, and size are all perfect. Acrylic has just the right amount of grip and the green color is gorgeous. You knocked it out of the park AO2.
This Chetki is a testament to old world traditions. What it lacks in speed compared to the Remeshock, it more than makes up for in comfort and playability. The size, weight and materials harken to eras past, and it does not disappoint in tactility. I’m very happy with my new Podushka Chetki, and would highly recommend it; especially for old souls.
