Knucklebone - Original Exotic Metal Editions

Aroundsquare's Knucklebones are a pocket friendly skill toy that can be manipulated to perform tricks or just pass the time. With the original kbones, we sparked a whole new category of skill toys, and make no mistake, the knucklebones are the original hardbody knuckle rollers.

Our Zirconium Editions

This beautiful model is precision machined from solid zirconium rods, and then polished to a gorgeous finish and torched to enhance and darken the colour. This elegant Knucklebone may not be for everyone due to its price, but for those who know what they're getting into, you're bound to cherish this piece, and to appreciate it even more over time. The weight of the original size zirc kbones is is around 66g per piece, making it great for any style of play, including momentum tricks, and for exercising the fingers.

 Product details:

  • Precision machined from solid zirconium
  • Polished and torched
  • Colour: depends on lighting, ranging from greyish to almost black; note that the large sized units have a slight multicolour "oilslick" sheen in some lighting
  • Specs:
    • Regular size 60mm x 20mm/ 66g

Our Mokuti Edition

The elegant Mokuti material is forged from folded layers of different titanium grades, then precision machined, polished, and torched to create eye-popping colour patterns, reminiscent of wood grain. When machined to our specifications, the grains of the material become exposed in a way that accentuates the appearance of the curves, creating a beautiful topographic relief.

Each piece is quite unique, with its own grain patterns and slight colour differences. All pieces range from dark purple to blue to grey, and include lighter orange/ gold striping. The pieces shown in the photos are representative of the range (the remaining pieces are vacuum sealed to preserve the initial finish).

The MokuTi Knucklebones are only available polished at this time. The polished surface has more grip than sand blasted titanium, which helps with preventing drops with these precious pieces. The finish is reasonably durable in normal use, but will eventually show scratches and may fade through repeated contact with other pocket items etc. However, one of the beautiful aspects of this material is that it can be re-finished innumerable times, giving slightly different colours and contrasts each time depending on how it is torched.

This elegant Knucklebone may not be for everyone due to its price point, but for those who know what they're getting into, you're bound to cherish this piece. The weight is very similar to the regular titanium model - around 44.8g each.

Product details:

  • Precision machined from solid mokuti
  • Polished and torched
  • Specs:
    • Regular size 60mm x 20mm/ 44.8g

Our Zircuti Edition

The elegant Zircuti material is forged from folded layers of titanium and zirconium, then precision machined, polished, and torched to create eye-popping colour patterns, reminiscent of wood grain. When machined to our specifications, the grains of the material become exposed in a way that accentuates the appearance of the curves, creating a beautiful topographic relief.

Each piece is distinct, with its own grain patterns. This edition is only available polished, with a shallow etch, giving just the faintest impression of the material texture, and a very unique feel during play. The photos provided are all unedited, and shot with bright indoor lighting, to give a true depiction of what you’ll be getting. The pieces depicted are quite representative of the range. The polished finish is durable in normal use, but will eventually show scratches and may fade through repeated contact with other pocket items etc.

This elegant Knucklebone edition may not be for everyone due to its price point, but for those who know what they're getting into, you're bound to cherish these pieces. The weight is very similar to the titanium models - right around 49.5g (with slight variation due to the blending of layers in the billet).

 Product details:

  • Precision machined from solid zircuti
  • Polished and torched
  • Specs:
    • Regular size 60mm x 20mm/ around 49.5g

Our Mokume Gane Editions

The beautiful Mokume Gane material is forged from folded layers of copper, brass, and cupronickel, then precision machined, and highly polished. Etched versions are also available, which immediately the grains and presents a slight texture on the surface of the material. While the polished version does not initially have a high contrast between material layers, this will change as the materials begin to patina, and ultimately, both versions will show similar colour patterns and contrast levels. The last photo in the product photo set shows side by side comparisons of fresh versus older versions of both the polished and the etched finish.

When machined to our specifications, the natural wood-like grains of the mokume material become exposed in a way that accentuates the appearance of the curves, creating a beautiful topographic relief. Each piece is distinct, with its own grain patterns. The photos provided are all unedited, and shot with bright indoor lighting, to give a true depiction of what you’ll be getting. The pieces depicted are quite representative of the range. Note that mokume gane is comprised of relatively soft metals, and if dropped on hard surfaces like concrete, the material will wear in a manner similar to copper or brass, although the grain patterns tend to mask marks more than a single material would. The weight is very similar to the regular Stainless Steel model - around 86.2g each.

This elegant Knucklebone edition may not be for everyone due to its price point, but for those who know what they're getting into, you're bound to cherish these pieces.

 Product details:

  • Precision machined from solid mokume gane
  • Polished and or etched finish
  • Specs:
    • Regular size 60mm x 20mm/ 86.2g

Our Damascus Steel Edition

This beautiful edition is precision machined from a solid billet of Damascus Steel, AKA DamaSteel. The material is forged from folded layers of different steel grades, then precision machined, etched lightly, and polished smooth.

Each piece is distinct, with its own grain patterns. This edition is only available polished, with a shallow etch (untextured), since a deeper etch might abrade the fingers during play. The grain patterns are clearly visible, but are understated, and not noticeable from a distance.

That said, they are made of steel, so, they are among the hardest and most durable pieces we sell.

This elegant Knucklebone edition may not be for everyone due to its price point, but for those who know what they're getting into, you're bound to cherish these pieces. The weight is very similar to the stainless steel models - right around 78-79g (with slight variation due to the blending of layers in the billet).

Warnings: Metal versions are heavy and solid--can break things or hurt things if dropped. It is recommended that you play over carpet, couch, or the like, or outside.
